Sportfishing is world class and has been well
known in the Sportfishing industry for many years.
Because of this most of the Costarica Sportfshing
companies in enforce a strict catch-and-release
policy. They do understand sustainable tourism and
want to conserve the level of fish in the waters
off of Costa Rica. Sport fishing on the Pacific
Coast is strikingly different than on the Caribbean
Coast. The Pacific is known for its Blue Marlin
and the best season for this fish is from May
July. However this fish can be found year round
in the Pacific waters. Dorado is also another Sportfihsing
catch.

THE CARIBSEA is a 46' Guthrie Flybridge Sportfisher
built in North Carolina. She sports a full size
tuna tower, 14' beam, 2 staterooms which sleeps
4 guests. The boat offers the speed and luxury to
fish one day or several days in the most prolific
big game waters in the world, and depending on where
the fish are concentrated at any given moment, the
46-foot Guthrie will work out of Flamingo Beach
in Northern Guanacaste, further down the Nicoya
Peninsula basing at Guanamar, Quepos on the Central
Coast, and often running south to the less frequently
fished waters in the Drake Bay and Cano Island area.
Sailfish are abundant November through April, however,
sailfish are available year round. Larger numbers
of sailfish are taken November through April, during
this time you will be thrilled with 15 to 20 bites
a day. Fly fishermen take note! This is the time
to get your sailfish on fly. Marlin add to the excitement
as they frequent Costa Rica year round. Giant yellowfin
tuna, dorado, rooster fish, snapper and wahoo will
round out your angling experience.

Sportfishing - 28 ft. Tarpon can be taken in any
month of the year. The king of game fish journeys
from saltwater into freshwater at will. They roam
the warm inshore waters of the Caribbean Sea along
the entire Eastern seaboard of Costa Rica as well
as venture up the many rivers that flow to the coast.
Tarpon commonly travel up the Rio Colorado into
the Rio San Juan all the way to Lake Nicaragua.
Fishing is more apt to change day to day rather
than season to season. The fish are always present
and current local weather conditions will play the
major factor in what its feeding habits will be
on any given day.
